The conference will feature an unprecedented event that engages over 10000 high school students across Newfoundland and Labrador. On January 8, 2010, the 400 delegates will go to 13 schools in the St. John's area to deliver classroom presentations. Then, the students in these schools, along with students in high schools across the province, will be engaged by a live broadcast presentation that will: begin with a video from Newfoundland comedian Rick Mercer, continue with a keynote speech from Canadian NGO and public policy leader Shauna Sylvester, include a video made by EWB-Ryerson that showcases youth creating changing in different parts of the globe, and finish with NL high school students sending a collective message to the Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of Newfoundland.
