@Whiskeypapa17 In this episode, there was a submarine off the coast of North Korea that failed to report in. Just about everybody thought it went quiet to avoid detection, but the President (without much military experience) wanted to rush in and stage a rescue. Hal Holbrook was a State Department official brought in to help advise the President, and he went off on a bit of a tangent about the history of submarine losses. Needless the say, he and the President didn't exactly get along. :)

CV7 Wasp was sunk by a Jap sub on 15 September 1942. Heavy loss of life. I don't know the context that would have for this show.
