Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Neuroscience Institute, CHOC Children's Orthopaedic Institute, Medtronic, and United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County held a conference entitled "Pediatric Spasticity Management: Options for Treatment" at CHOC on November 9, 2009.

The program was designed especially for children and adults living with the discomfort and inconvenience of spasticity caused by cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, brain or spinal injury, or stroke.

This segment features Dr. Michael Muhonen, M.D., Pediatric Neurosurgeon and Medical Director of the CHOC Neuroscience Institute and Director of the Neurosurgery Division at CHOC Children's, speaking about the neurosurgical options for management of spasticity and dystonia.

  • Would deep brain stimulation work on a adult with dystonia (Extreme severe spasticity?)
