  • We alternate languages--Ukrainian one week, English the next--and a little Slavonic thrown in for good measure. Other services--Vespers, Matins, etc are primarily in English.

  • Amazing how Orthodox this is ... why did they join Rome?!

  • Please--get over it! We are Orthodox Christians in union w/ Rome. Even the early Church Fathers saw the final decision at Rome. I love having dual citizenship--Orthodox and Catholic--truly Universal.

  • I go to this church! And today I might mace a video too!

  • Great--we need more people to do this!

  • I think what you mean by "Catholic Orthodox" is "Eastern Catholic." The main difference between Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic is that the Eastern Catholics are in communion with the See of Rome.

  • what's the difference between Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Orthodox? I have a Greek friend that goes to a Byzantine church St. Nectarios and I think it is the same as this church..women on one side, men on the other but women have to cover their hair..

  • Actually, when the term "Orthodox" is used, it is not in communion with Rome. This particular video refers to a "Ukrainian Catholic" church, which means it is in communion with Rome. Just a little technicality there, and I wouldn't be surprised that given the latest development with the traditional Anglicans and the Patriach of Bulgaria, hopefully, we'll see a re-unification of a majority of the churches!

  • My friend I wasn't crticising! I am actually a Roman Catholic convert to Islam ... That's another story! As a Catholic I was totally unaware that the Catholic Curch had different rites. I have always admired the beauty of Slavic Orthodox/Catholic music. Hey have you heard the Stretensky choir singing? WOW mind blowingly beautiful. Are your services delivered in Church Slavonic or Ukrainian?

  • I just became an alter-boy...

  • Requiem aeternam dona ei Domine.

    Beautiful Byzantine Church Slavonic ceremony!
