My Xenosaga Episode 3 Epic Trailer Final

Final version. This is it. Pretty much the same as Version 0.99. I just cleared up the high frequency distortion you would hear in some of the voice clips and due to "creative differences" with my partner, I changed a shot.

Question though: Do you like the Canaan and Voyager shot more in the previous one or the Rubedo and Nigredo one.

Edit: (March 21st) My partner has seen the errors of his ways. I'm changing it back to the Voyager and Canaan shot. (Unless there's a sudden burst of comments saying that they like the Rubedo Nigredo shot better.)

Edit: (March 28th 2007)I entered video into the music video competition at anime north and they said (in a paraphrase):

We have come to the conclusion that you made this yourself and that it is not a licensed trailer. However it looks a lot like one which is a problem.

We have been debating if fan made anime trailers are music videos. Your artistic vision statement says that your video is just to promote the game and that it does not try to juxtapose images with sounds etc.

We have decided to disqualify your video and next year we will instate a rule to disallow fan made trailers. (End of my paraphrase)

So... apparantly, you can get penalized for working too hard to produce a good product.

Also, that artistic statement. With the word cap at 50 words, that does not leave room for me to say anything other than it is a trailer.

Further more, it seems that this rule that they have not instate, actually has been unofficially stated just for my friend and I.

You know what? That is a load of crap. I am boycotting Anime North.


Edit: (April 1st 2007) Not an april's fool joke. Anyway, debated with the AMV judge and they will let it in if I remove the playstation, bandai etc. logos. *sigh*. All that debating just to remove a few miniscule things that doesn't take much time. Debating is tiring.

Edit (May 26th 2007): Guess what guys. My video didn't make it to the finals in Anime North. What a surprise! My friend and I knew it wouldn't make it to the finals after that huge hassle we had with them. I am not saying that my video would've won hands down, but in my humble opinion, my video was better than lots of the finalists.

Edit (August 07th 2007): AH CRAP!!! I just noticed that there's one "bad" frame in the video. I actually noticed it a while ago, but when I checked it in adobe premier it wasn't there. CURSE YOU ADOBE PREMIER 6.0!!! j/k, Adobe Premier 6.0 is good. This is the first time I've ever had problems. Oh, and I didn't know I could choose an image to represent my video in search results. I guess I'll change it to some other one hahah.

@Dexter158 A modchip is something you install onto the motherboard of the PS2 that lets you run import or bootlegged games. Another option is to get a swap magic disc which does the same but without having to crack open your PS2 to install something. You can google the two options and decide which one is better for you. Another option is to get HDloader, but I don't now how to set that up. My friend set that up for me. You can install and run games from a hard drive using it.

Congrats on a very professional and cohesive trailer. I think that this wouldn't work as an actual marketing ad for the game since the game itself is very complex and someone who has never played the game before would not understand.

But that doesn't really matter at all since most of the people watching it are fans of XS anyways. Great job on an amazing piece of work.

I do have a ps3 but it isn't compatible with ps2 games. It doesn't matter anymore, though. I bought another ps2 from the US, it was really cheap and totally worth it. Xenosaga is the best game I've ever played! :)
