    Kiri Tosca Brava!

  • You have to be a hardcore fan of Kiri to like her Tosca; just as if you liked Beverly Sills singing Norma or Tosca (which Sills actually did in her early career in the 50's, along with Aida and Carmen, roles not suited to her voice). Tosca was not suited to Kiri's lyric voice. She was a fabulous Mozart and Baroque singer. Her Strauss is also exquisite. I dislike her singing dramatic roles. She sang Manon Lescaut as well but she's not a Puccini voice at all. Tosca is not right for Kiri.

  • Also true. I just heard her as Tosca and I liked it, maybe because of her - let's call it advantage - to be not able to sing forte. Very interesting. Because Tosca is normally very passionate and hot-tempered. Which is different if she can only stress her singing in another way. By not singing loud in this case... and doing other things. I'm not an expert in singing and musicial studies. Therefore, I just enjoy. ^^

  • She is liric soprano and sher voice can,t give her possibility sing forte. Tosca is dangerous role for her.

  • And I love both Kiri and Marton. For La Tosca I prefer La Callas, but it doesn't mean that I don't like Kiri's or Marton's performances. This one is so subtle, she really acts like a countess but it's ok. There are many different Toscas. My favourite one is Gabriela Silva - my dearest soprano at all, but I love watching many different ones.

  • The process is not there, just a sequence of actions... and everything fades away, the right vocal colour including.

  • Interesting how Kiri is all there is to be in this Tosca but when it comes to Marton it seems like she can do no right.

Seems like YOU are the one who seems to know all of Kiri's intentions with Tosca and hate being challenged on that.

The pot calling the kettle black. You never proved any of my points being incorrect.
