12" Rockford Fosgate P3 Shallow Subwoofer in Subaru Impreza

Had a rockford P3 installed in my 2006 Subaru Impreza Outback sport SE. It came as a package with the sub and enclosure, which fits nicely in my trunk with access to my spare tire well. For my AMP, I have a kenwood 600Watt (200RMS) class D mono. Even though the amp is only 200watts RMS, it still shakes the car and I think at times its too much for the speaker at certain tones. 4 gauge wire kit. Everything installed by best buy geeksquad. All equipment less than $350 installed. And my factory woofer under my seat is still active and does the medium low bass while the rockford takes the deep bass.

dude that thing is only pushing 200 watts. buy a 400-500 watt amp and just parallel wire it!!!!!

@MtnXfreeride incorrect statement.. shallow mount p3 is 400watts rms 800 watts peak.. while a normal p3 is 500 rms, 1000 peak I have a single p3 hooked up to a Boss d1200m in a vented box and it takes it with no problem, 8 gauge braided speaker wire, 4 gauge wiring kit.

@x04bluespecx ITs 300Watts RMS.. it says right on it, not 400. We were both wrong. I bet I could blow it with 300, I can hear it strain with 200 watts on some songs.

Hey buddy i got a question for you, I got a subaru sti 2006 and I want to know how did you plugged the amp in the back of the radio.. there is no Rca Plugs i think... Thanks !

@davidauclair yeah, I forget the name of the adapter, but it was spliced into the front speakers and had RCAs to attach to the sub line. I now have a JVC KW-NT3HDT radio so its been a while since I saw the name of the box thing.

@davidauclair It's called a "line output converter" that allows you to hook up an amp to your stock head unit. It just splices into your speaker wires and converts them into rca cables for your amp :)

@rainbirdman07 nope lol, I could easily get the sub straining with that amp. I have since swtiched to a five channel amp which has a bit more power and does the same thing at higher volumes.
