poor things, just imagine what indian people felt like when the govt came in and told them you gotta move from your villages where you have lived for 10,000 years white people want this land and then they flooded the areas with the dam reservoir. The indian people watched as their homes, their fishing sites and there burial sites of there ancestors disappeared under the water and they cried in there hearts. makes ya wanna poke someone in the eye dont it?

what makes people think they know better than nature? a dam is the most non-scenic, non-natural thing that can be in a river.
Dam removal is not only for fish, but for pollution control, water quality issues, unhealthy sedimentation build up, release of sedimentation to the coast to help with beach erosion, and more!

@jiswim Historically the Klamath River in the summer went dry with swamps and marshes and in the winter there were inundating floods destroying lives and property. The only salmon run was in the Spring when snow melt filled the river. Since the dams have been built we have a year round recreational river and lakes in addition to the planting of Coho salmon and a year round flowing river we also have a great run of fall Salmon. In 1950 total salmon catch was 149,000 tons and in 2007 403,000 tons.
