Fear mongering is no way to pass a bill or establish policy. It is a liberty issue and that bill would have infringed on Liberty which is NEVER acceptable under any circumstance. People whom ask for safety in exchange for Liberty deserve neither!

Agreed. It's a cynical tactic to pressure people into ceding their civil liberties to institutions that want to expand their authority at the public's expense. If the Republicans and Democrats weren't so committed to interfering in countries overseas in defense of 'American Interests' ie. the interests of Washington and Wall Street, resistance to American aggression would be a non-issue. There are causal factors in our own government's policies that are responsible for the escalating terrorism.

Want some votes?? Wanna get elected again?? Allow for Immigration Reform to pass in 2009, and those new residents will become citizen by 2016 and maybe even 2012! Seize the opportunity Rep's.
