In this week's videolog I talk about finishing up the final touches of Silent Heart which is being sent off to a few film festivals this week.

I always end up having to Google a written tutorial for how to make a menu for my DVD in Photoshop and so I decided to show everyone else that might stumble across that same problem how to do it.

The tutorial is rough and it was shot with a handheld camera facing my computer, but hopefully you get the idea. I also might not have explained everything for people that have no experience with either program so feel free to post in the comments with any questions and I'll answer them for you!

I finish up with talking about the trailer for Silent Heart which is officially posted online!

  • first off great tutorial... i am having the same problem with multiple roll-overs and only the top 3 work... a clue is the non working links are stuck in the roll-over action... in your example, the notes would be showing on the non-working links, maybe it is a bug with cs5.5... you know something to check? i have definitely checked that the (+) groups and (=) menus match up... any ideas? hoping it is not a 3 link limit with encore... thanks

  • @originaldxthirteen I based most of this video off of this tutorial so hopefully this helps solve the problem adobe.com/designcenter/encore/articles/enc15menu.html

  • so i have a movie with about 15 chapters

when i upload my scene selection menu which has seven buttons in it

into encore only three of the buttons work, if you have any ideas of what im doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • @JTheffs are you sure they all have their own folder labeled properly?

  • @originaldxthirteen If you're having the same problem as me, it's because the numbering on the "(=1)" layers is independent of the other menu options and is limited to 3. If you make (=4) (=5) etc, Encore doesn't know what to do. You can make them all (=1) and it should work

  • You are my God.

  • Maaan! Thank you very much! very helpful! :)

  • please get FRAPS.

  • This is a great tutorial. It gave me the details that I was looking for. Thanks alot dude.

  • The (+) and (=1) are code that Encore reads so it knows how to handle the button.
