"Is it just me, or has everything just gotten futuristic?" wonders William Shatner, the man famous for playing Captain Kirk in Star Trek.
But how did the world get itself into such an advanced state of technology? "I made it happen," claims Shatner. "Or, rather, Star Trek did."
Watch How William Shatner Changed the World at 9.00pm on Wednesday 24th May, on Five, to find out how they did it.
It is massively arrogant that Shatner calls the documentary "How William Shatner Changed the World" instead of "How Gene Roddenberry Changed the World" or "How Star Trek Changed the World", disrespecting Roddenberry who is the real hero. Shatner is an egomaniac who just happened to be chosen for that role as Captain and is hardly the cornerstone of technological developments Star Trek inspired. I like the guy, don't get me wrong, just saying EGO FREAK, and apparently proud of it!

I love this documentary and it is true that Star Trek TOS did have a hand in shaping our future - makes me wonder what insperational idea's could've been birthed had the series been allowed to run for five seasons in stead of being cancelled after just three. We might have had hover cars by now
