@geekrichieuk I guess it wasn't just the end of your septum which needed correction. More extensive work inside the nose? I'm sure in a few days you will feel better. Any problems speak to your nasal surgeon.
@NoseMD Came out yesterday - I was in a bed next to another guy and he had a flawless surgery and recovery - I've had splints and my nose is still leaking a little now I'm home. Apperently my cartilidge was pieces (or at least I think thats why they said I was in for 2 hours with this op - I was still out of it when the doctor saw me after surgery). My main concern now is that I'm nearly choking on my Uvula and the discharge attending ignored it when I asked about. Is this normal?
@geekrichieuk No. most doctors use a head light only. I have used an endoscope for nearly twenty years for ALL my septoplasties. Visualization is paramount. If the deviation is just at the end of the nostril a scope may not be necessary. But again, if you don't look inside the nose with a scope, you can miss a blockage in the back of the nose which may be more important then a minor deflection by the nostril. Good luck. Getting this done on Friday - Is it commonly done endoscopically? My deviation seems pretty close to the nostril.
For anyone in the UK the NHS are covering it and I've been sorted out pretty quickly - 1 months since I went to have it checked and I have a overnight at New Cross. Its also good to hear that I'll be having disolvable stitches to save an unpleasant trip back to have them removed.
