President Rajapaksa has urged the entire nation not to be treacherous to their motherland no matter whatever aspersions were cast on him.

He said he is used to defamation from the day the Tsunami lashed the country. He neither reiterate when he is discredited nor does he attempt to respond. But when someone is treacherous towards the country he would not hesitate to attack him. They have no right to go against the country. The President noted that he viewed the attack on the country as against the war heroes, their mothers, sisters and brothers and children.
He expressed these views during a meeting with representatives of womens organisations of the Matara and Hambantota Districts. The meeting took place at the Medamoolana residence. Around 5000 representing these organisations were present. The President further said that he succeeded in building a free country honouring the mandate given by placing confidence in him.
