This is me training for the Warped Wall on the Japanese obstacle course Ninja Warrior.

This is a somewhat old video. I believe it was taken around December 6th, 2007. I'll probably get a new video of this eventually.

I had my friend stand against the wall to give you all a little idea of the height. My friend is about six feet tall, which puts the light at about 11 feet. Considering you can run up half of the Warped Wall, which (to my knowledge) is 17 or 18 feet tall, and I can jump 11 feet up a straight wall, I'm feeling good about it.

  • Nothing. Nothing at all.

  • Thanks. My friend and I are training for the Sasuke trials and we'd like to let you know that your videos have helped a ton. Look for Charles Chavez in the competition! (I doubt you'll see me there though. He leaves me in the dust when were practicing)

  • Will you be at ANW2 this summer? If so, let's meet up.

  • Practice.

  • okay i like SERIOUSLY wanna be able to do this... but i suck.. BIG TIME, any tips?

  • true, thanks.

  • I learned my wall flips right before I began landing my back flips consistently, I believe. I could do them on flat ground, but it was like a 50/50 thing. :P

In my opinion, the standing back flip doesn't help much when learning the wall flip. Its technique is pretty different from the wall flip, mostly because you have to generate all the force yourself with a SBF (when you are in the air), where as you can push off the wall during a WF.

    Good luck, though!
