the difference between training for size and for strength is effectively myofibrilar vs sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, and is a result of the different rep ranges used; powerlifters training in the 5RM and below range to increase that 1RM whereas bodybuilders will train in the 6-12 rep range.

Is there a difference between benching for bodybuilding and benching for strength?

@nokia3210fuck @TheExalTeDGuy bodybuilders bench to make their chess look bigger. On top of @titans091052's comment, they try to isolate it as much as possible. With strength training, you do the opposite, which is to use as many muscles as you can. In this way, @gankzorzz's comment is justified. You'll see bodybuilders, lifting their feet onto the bench so it's only the arms.
