"Wedding Bell Blues" quickly became a #1 hit for The 5th Dimension after its release in 1969. It reached #1 on Billboard's "Hot 100" chart, and scored #1 on the U.S. "Adult Contemporary" chart, #23 on the U.S. "R&B Singles" chart, #3 in Canada and #16 in the United Kingdom, in the same year.
An interesting side note regarding this song is that Marilyn McCoo, the
lead singer, married Billy Davis, Jr., bandmate and founder of The 5th
Dimension, about two months after this song hit the airwaves and in 2009 they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Great tune, written by Laura when she was only 18 years old. She had a rare gift essentially non-existent in today's world of music.
