This video shows how to wire in an external power supply to your Roadie2 Double Bass Coupler.

This operation is reasonably easy (relatively very easy compared to most mods), and requires a soldering iron, fine solder, a wire stripper, a phillips screw driver, and of course the Roadie2 and power supply. The power supply used in the video is a 9-volt AC to DC converter from Radioshack. Mine is 800mA, but I believe the $2 cheaper model, the 300mA one, will work as well. The power supply is between $18 and $22 in price.

I did this because the Roadie2 eats 9-volt batteries like a fat kid eats cake, and this cake is expensive!
I have a little soldering experience, and almost no electronic experience, but the operation was simple and only took about 15 minutes.

  • That's good stuff dude as far as the hook up, but why invest in a charger from Radio Shack?

Go to Goodwill or Salvation Army or look in your junk drawer for an old wall plug AC-DC 9V converter (Calculators and other old battery powered electronics used them). Just look for an old one that has a 9VDC output. Chances are you ain't using it anymore and it's just lying around (or get at Goodwill for $1.50) Then the 9V output can wire in directly in as you specify.

  • can you remake the video

the pictures and audio don't match up

    it confuses me

  • Your roadie coupler works perfectly?

Because I have one roadie coupler and two roadie pedals and is not as good as expected.

    =(

  • can you make a vid of how good they work

  • thats pretty descent, i just got fed up with mine since i was having response issues. Although i have already made a custom J5, i'll probably make a more durable version using the box from the roadie coupler.
