Me formative influences included the wardrobe department of the Bavarian State Opera, located in King Ludwig’s former bedroom, where I worked on theater costumes and shoes for productions including Richard Wagner’s ‘Twilight of the Gods’ and ballets by Jacopo Godani, I can say this movie made absolutely my mood of the year. Bravo.

Ich bin kein Tanz-Fan und kannte Frau Bausch nicht, aber der Clip, die tolle Musik und nicht zuletzt das wunderbar beknackte Zitat machen mir Lust auf den Film.

@Danceisaweapon That is lovely. She must have been great.

This is a tribute to Pina Baush with her masterpieces and some works by her dancers who used the same process of creation, this is not an explanatory documentary, this is to show Pina's work and her creative universe. It is going to help you to understand what Pina's dancetheater, but you need a little bit more background before watching it maybe if you found it very boring...

What you need to know is that it is NOT a movie which is going to explain to you her dance, you have to live it and experience it yourself. Her work is based on TRUTH she would ask her dancers to give for example the Moon, and if the movement was not true enough you had to do it again and again until you become an honest dancer, such as in life :)

I wasn't really into watching "dance"...I didn't know who she was but I met her years ago and spent hours in her studio watching her rehears The Rite Of Spring. Then saw the actual live performance. INCREDIBLE! No movie however brilliant can come close to that, I have remembered it all my life. Tears ran from my eyes and I laughed with joy. When she looked into my eyes I felt free and as if I had found my true home.
She was a talented, hard working, complex and brilliant artist & human being.

LIKE ALL GREAT ARTISTS Pina didn't want 2 b the main spectacle but rather the spectacles (glasses).
She reveals the art, To me her work is about dreams, reality, desire, life, men, women, pain, joy, love, hate, freedom, slavery, war, peace. You don't get it, that's okay, Every person doesn't agree with your idea of what is worthwhile. She isn't trying to force anything on you. She lived her passion and will be remembered for changing dance forever. Ask yourself, how you will live your own life?

@westeastization maybe not knowing what it is about is the problem. I have the same prob about it too. That's why I also find it boring because I don't know the motivation, the meaning of it all...
WHEN WILL THIS FILM BE AVAILABLE IN THE US??? <3<3<3

@TheMadamemoxie It is already playing in select theaters. Call or, even better email your local movie theater and ask them if they will play the movie, this might even help them to decide to show the movie in your town.
