My 04 WR 450. All the free mods, switch for the grey wire, air box mods, Athena 480 kit, HotCams, FMF SS MegaBomb and Ti PowerCore.

Sounds like a serious hot rod, but in reality the mods turned it into a awesome fat, old, slow almost newb (me) trail cruiser!

Picked up a GoPro HD yesterday so I figured I might as well start putting up vids. "Dirt Touring with the Fat, Old, Slow Guy!", with some special appearances by my wife the "Not so fat, not quite as old, fast on a Honda Forman ATV Girl"

I'll get some GoPro vids up as soon as I figure out how the hell you edit MP4 vids!

  • @Donut0boy You'll need to check out the vids in a week or two. Putting all new plastic and graphics on it. Appearance wise it was getting pretty tired looking.

  • @Donut0boy When I first disconnected the grey wire I noticed a little difference, but it wasn't "OMG! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!" sort of thing. I added the switch at the same time as the big bore and megabomb, mostly because I didn't know what the end result was going to be, and I was scared....lol. It is very noticable between settings now that you can easily compare back and forth. The bike is so much user friendly now though that I never ever switch it back to "WR" mode, Nice to know I can though

  • Hey man love the wr, pretty sick setup you've got going there. Was just wondering if you notice much between the grey wire on yz or wr. Ive got mine off all the time now and didn't notice too much with the stock exhaust, though ive got the full fmf same as your now and wondering if the switch is worth while.

    cheers man

  • @chilcootsam Hey, thanks for the comment....

I have to admit, I'm quite pleased on how it turned out...maybe shocked is a better word....lol

Even the hard core HS and nasty single track guys around here like it now, and they HATED it last year...lol

I'd be on my hands and knee's puking by the time I got to the top of that two part run on your channel!....ha!

  • Very informative walkaround, Kind of like an audio version of what we all read on Thumper talk eh? Good work, and helpful for the newbies too.

    Keep it up

  • @24staffy I picked this one up in 2008 used, as it's my first dirtbike and haven't been on one since I was a kid. It has worked out well since I have less money in this than I would have for a new bike.. And this one works alot better than a new one would.

Just replace stuff as you need but with better parts as you go.

For example, I needed a new piston/rings/cylinder anyways , and the 480 kit was only $70 more than the OEM.

  • nice thats what i want to do to my bike its all about the cash
