As a follower of Jeff Hardy since he first broke on to the WWE scene back in 1998 Ive followed Jeff's career for 11 years now and after Jeff's second Wellness Policy violation, the loss of his home and Dog in a fire last year I thought that Jeff had finally got himself back on the right track, which brought the news of his arrest for "Drug Trafficking" on Friday as a big surprise.
On Friday when I first heard of Jeff's arrest and the charges against him, I decided not to rush out and comment on the situation and wait for a fuller picture of what happened, as certain details of the arrest had already been labelled false by Jeff (via Twitter) and full details of the incident were said to not be released until Monday.
The reason that I now what to comment on the arrest is that there is a lot of news sites out there condemning Jeff without looking at the full facts. Jeff has already said that he is not done with Pro Wrestling and is using this time off to work on a reality show, his band (Peroxwhy?gen) and most importantly, HEAL. When Jeff walked away from the WWE he was suffering from two herniated discs in his back and neck pain from the thousands of bumps hes taken on a daily basis in the ring over the past 11 years.
Below is the orignal report on Jeff's arrest and a list of what was found, alongside some notes from Jeff Deville, a Registered Nurse and active member of the healthcare community as to why Jeff may have had these in his possession.
"Hardy, 32, was arrested on Friday after a search of his home yielded 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 millilitres of anabolic steroids, powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia. His bail has been set at $125,000."
262 Vicodin Prescription Pills
Vicodin (Hydrocodone/Apap) is a narcotic analgesic used for moderate to severe musculoskeletal pain. Relevant to strength, the FDA approved dosing regimen is 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours not to exceed 8 tabs daily. At this dosing regimen, a commonly prescribed volume of Vidocin would be 240 tablets monthly and if written at a 90 day supply as dictated by many insurance companies this would require a volume of 720 tablets.
180 Soma Prescription Pills
Soma (Carisoprodol) is a skeletal muscle relaxant prescribed for acute or chronic muscle pain. The FDA approved dosing regimen for this is 1 tab (250-350mg) every 8 hours and once at bedtime as needed for pain. Taken at this regimen, this would be a prescribed volume of #120 per month. As many insurance companies require or at minimum request 90 day supply of prescription medications, a typical 90 day prescription for Soma at the FDA approved minimum dosing regimen would be 360 tablets.
Power Cocaine
TMZ.com reported that there was Powder Cocaine found at Jeffs house, however this was a very vague description of the truth. The Moore County Sheriffs Office stated in their official report that this was actually a residual amount of powder cocaine.
Residual - Something left after other parts have been taken away.
The residual amount found looks to have been left behind from the use of powder cocaine, however there is no evidence to suggest that Jeff Hardy was the one to have used the substance.
Drug Paraphernalia
As stated on Wikipedia There is no Federal law regarding simple possession of drug paraphernalia.
555 Millilitres of Anabolic Steroids
In the U.S., anabolic steroids are currently listed as Schedule III controlled substances under the Controlled Substances Act, which makes the first offense simple possession of such substances without a prescription a federal crime punishable by up to one year in prison.
Drug Trafficking
This charge was said to be down to the sheer amount of drugs found at Jeffs home, however as weve noted above, the majority of the pills found are likely to prescribed to Jeff to cope with his injuries and if they are indeed prescribed this charge is more than likely to be dropped.
Now that weve covered each of the above, I hope this gives you a better perspective on the situation and you can come to your own conclusions.
And remember, it's "Innocent Until Proven Guilty", not "Guilty Until proven Innocent".
Regards,
Paul Lynn

i know right?? i think jeff hardy is a very talented wrestler, No one really knows everything going on because its actually being taken care of (THE RIGHT WAY), and the Press isn't twisting it. But Regardless of what happens, it will not effect the way i feel about his athletic ability, as i have said: INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
