I filmed this outside a Shiva temple. He is playing an Ektara.
This man devoted his whole day to singing this song, all the time.
I think the language is Bundelkhandi, an Indian Dialect of Madhya Pradesh.
I would love a translation!
A friend in Varanasi told me that the lyrics say something like this: "Dear God, I have done a lot of good deeds in this life, and have good karma. I am going to die, so when I do so, please help me to cross to the other side of the river in your boat."
I think it is from a poet named Khabir.
He sung it all day long. He was a master.

  • Can you tell me where was this Shiva mandir, i like to go and meet this Sadhu, thanks

This Shiva Mandir was in Khajuraho, I think near the central area, where most of the activity takes place. I remember it was located near the "yogi lodge" hotel, and near de Gem Palace hostel. There is a big temple wich is sorrounded by fences, and you have to pay a ticket to get in. But there is a little road that goes arround it, and it is free. I remember I went along that little road, and there was this Shiva Mandir, where a lot of pooja was going on. I hope you find him. Namaste.
