Jayson Heyward grew up in McDonough Georgia.and played baseball for Henry County High and led his team to a 4A Championship. After graduating Jason's friend and teammate #22 Andrew Wilmot was killed in a fatal car accident. After being drafted to the Braves, The 1st person he called was his Highschool English teacher, Andrew's Mother. He brought her his new Braves Jersey, on the back was the # 22. Jason broke into the Majors even being compared to Hank Aaron and Jackie Robinson. His 1st time at bat in the MLB, he hits a homerun in which the ball lands right near Andrews mom wearing Jason s #22 jersey. And what a better way to pay homage,than to circle the bases adorning her son's #.
