Now it is just a useless hole in the rock. How many kids could eat free breakfast for how long for what this thing cost? Between us and the Soviets, we squandered the wealth of a couple generations.

I live about a half mile from it, but the new NORAD is in Chicago. We've got all kinds of underground crap here, Space Command at Peterson along with Northcom.

If this incredible facility is now public knowledge, clearly there must be a new facility. I wouldnt have thought you could get better protection than solid rock and re-enforced concrete., unless its collapsing internally and had to be evacuated? But my guess is there is a new more sophisticated shelter. It must be very very impressive to make this redundant.

no, but they were really late. jets arrived in NYC only after the towers were hit, and in pentagon only after it was hit. also i heard rumors that only 14 jets were on alert at the time
