  • Nice video! I had one of these in Harvest Gold!

  • Harvest Gold FTW :)

  • on my P237-W the sticker says P237 on the bottom, and i belive this was because they normally used mcmillan motors wich moved during this time so they used the westinghouse motors, and maybee they never changed over the stickers, but that is why they used the westing house motor. after 75 they went back to the mcmillan when they opened back up

  • That is neat to know...

Now you have me wondering: What about the fans with the GE motors?

  • OMG that distinct sound that fan makes!I havn't heard in years. We had that fan in baige, my gram gave it to mom/dad lasted like 13-14years. At the end we would have to use a pen to get it going and it sounded like a chicken for like 3min.I know now it was probly the bearings but I was 6 when it stopped completely.

  • It may have been the motor was never oiled as well...

I've rescued a few fans out of the trash doing what you just described.... Putting in some fresh oil brought them back to life. I have yet to get one with a bad bearing.

This fan will go perfect in your shag carpet room. :)

  • Nice one Spatsbear. I remember seeing this one on ebay but it was too expessive for me. Besides I want one like this with a McMillan motor.

  • Well...I'll be damned! I just hauled a rusty piece of shit just like this out of the dumpster! I had to scrub the thing numerous times with Lysol just to get the mud, leaves, and garbage smell out. Must have been abandoned outdoors. She runs! Mine is peach in color though...maybe the paint faded? All speeds work perfect! It really saves the day for the summer heat! Older is better than newer!

  • I got a s223 2nd gen lakewood at a habitat for humanity in lexington va when i was 12 years old im 19 now at the time i did not know it was a lakewood or what a lakewood was i just saw it by a pile of cloths and junk and i asked how much i got it for 2.42 or somthing like that its funny the dam thing still works to this day every time i got up for summer vacation i put it in my window

  • Hey Spats! The video to my S-223 is finally up! Check it out!

  • Great news Spats! I now finally have one of these myself! It has the Westinghouse motor like yours does but it's a 1976 model and has the later style motor just like Emerson's S-223. A video of that fan and others are to come soon.

  • do i spy a Lakewood Kmart K14X in the one pile?? i swear it is but i didnt know u got one

  • Terracotta Orange is the best color for the 1st gens.

Beige with white blades is the best color for the 2nd gens.

  • Your cat is so cute.

  • Okay. Now why are my comments getting downrated? I didn't say anything bad that I know of. Im just saying that I'm glad that spatsbear now has this fan. I know I tried to go for this and had to drop out for money situations but I really am glad that it's now in the hands of a really good friend of ours. That's all I was trying to say.
