  • Can you set the aperture in camera mode and then switch to video mode and keep the aperture setting?

  • @hugepanzy

No, I think it's full open when REC

  • I've seen all of your NEX-5 videos, and they all feel so rugged. Resolution is fine, it's satisfying, but I'm worried about the shutter speed, it seems high, hence no motion blur... It's very noticeable when you see the bird flying - it's kind of unpleasant for my eyes.

Is there any way to lower the shutter speed? Or at least, does the shutter slow down if you increase the exposure?

I hope they will include this feature in next firmware, for me, it's a real deal-breaker.

  • @chipxsd

Can't adjust shutter speed, and exposure lock during REC

I hope support that but NEX is not camcoder :)

  • i Just bought a Sony NEX 5, HD and its only good for about 2, 7 minute videos before it get the high TEMPERATURE icon and then it turns off it SUCKS!!!

  • frame rate is low IMO

  • What speed of SD card you use?

  • @chipxsd Okay Thx. I am not into filming yet and in photography motion blur is not undesirable, that's why I did't understand you.

As far as I know you can set the exposure +-2 or something... Wouldn't that help?

  • @ShynePoe33 what I meant is shutter speed. It means how long the shutter is open or how long is the sensor exposed. Longer the exposure (per frame), more motion blur you get, hence the smoother motion look.

That's why if you look at the darker scenes shot with NEX-5 are more pleasant to watch, because the camera compensates with the longer exposure time to achieve brighter images.

  • @chipxsd can you explain what you mean? are you talking about the pictures per second? how can that be unpleasent?

or did i understand you wrong?
