dude i have creek chub in mmy creek. i fish on a 5 foot ledge. under the ledge there is a little hole where they go when they are hooked. the line gets tangled in the bush and the hook comes off. they are really hard to catcha nd nowhere near the size of the monster you caught.

@fishinguk coarse fish are deffinately not a sustainable food source. if every angler who caught a fish took it home and ate it our rivers and lakes would be empty in no time at all. the only fish that can be considered a sustainable food source are the ones that are farmed for the table.

Yea, mainly the poles who eat em all as it's quite a normal thing to do over Poland. I'm guessing that there are more lakes and rivers over there so there's always good stock to eat the fish. Apparently though they only really eat Carp at Christmas and I can't see how on earth they can have a pallet for pike. Dunno about chub, but Zander seems to be a higher prized meat...

WE'VE GOT ENOUGH PROBLEMS WITH THE FUCKING EASTERN EUROPEANS CUNTS FISHGING FOR FREE EVERYWHERE AND WITHOUT ROD LICENCES.
MOST FISH ARE STOCKED BY CLUBS AT GREAT EXPENSE SO LEAVE THEM ALONE AND IF YOU WANT TO FISH GET A ROD LICENCE AND JOIN A CLUB OR FIND SOMEWHERE YOU CAN FISH LEGALLY.

You can eat all fish from UK waters but your not really aloud to take them out. Trout and pike are the most common fish eaten due to trout being stocked for a catch and eat policy and pike to bring down numbers in areas where the are getting over run. But you can buy carp in some supermarkets and fish stalls now and is becoming popular. I have heard the polish like to eat carp and after all it is a substainable food resource but you wouldn't get many carp anglers taking them out!
