JJ Cale went to my High School in
Tulsa, He was a couple grades
behind me. He and Leon Russell were
both from Tulsa. Eric Clapton, Leon
Russel and JJ worked together on
their music. I never met him but my
brother-in-law knew him they lived
in the same neighborhood.

JJ is all about "less is more" Saw him at Hammersmith in '93 and he shuns all the adulation and fame stuff. He plays and sings phenominal music as if he's sittin on his porch and the sound and playin sends ears into raptures. Listen to "Magnolia"and I reckon it could make you fall in love with your own mother in law!

I would say this is one of my favorites, but they all are my favorites. Saw him in Taos and he had a drummer named Jose Murdoch. I named my next cat after Jose.

hmmm thats why eric clapton used to play so much with knopfler and dire straits

@rosharris JJ Cale is an Idol to Clapton and many others too - Clapton changed his way to play the guitar, completely, after hearing JJ's playing, and Knopfler, he just listened very carefully how to play in a cool way :) JJ Cale is God and both Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler are his talented disciples. JJ is the coolest man alive, easy.
