  • Hi...this is Tammy Mason, Randy Pausch's sister. I was really touched by what you said..and how you said it, enthusiasm included. Randy would have been so tickled to hear and see what you posted. He called me from his trailer the day they did the filming just to brag...the kind of thing that a brother would do to a sister. :-) He was beyond thrilled to be in this movie and to have a real Star Trek uniform. He did model it for our family, but we were not allowed to take any pictures. Thanks!

  • I am so honored that you responded to my video. It was fantastic to call his name out in the theater. When I saw him on the screen, I felt so happy for him, so excited. There he was, in Star Trek! You already know there's so much I'd like to say, but I'm going to leave it at this: Thank you. You would not believe the amazement that flew through my household when my family saw your comment. We couldn't believe it. I truly thank you for taking the time to leave one.

    -Jen

  • Thank you for introducing me to Randy Pausch in one of your previous videos. He was a legend! After watching his talk on fulfilling your childhood dreams, I have booked a 4 week tour from NYC-LA. And I'm from Scotland, UK. So thank you, Jen. It's partly thanks to you that I finally got my act together, and started doing the things I'd always wanted to do. Stefanie

  • That is amazing and is what Randy would have wanted.

I'm so glad i could pass it on to you.

    -Jen

  • I don't care what everyone says, Enterprise was cool (that and DS9 are the only ones I ever got into)

  • LMAO ahhh the ones you love are the ones i hate.

i'm glad someone can show them support. i feel bad not enjoying certain Star Treks.

    ferengi were cool though.

    I'm a Voyager fan myself.

  • I first learned about Randy a couple years ago and saw his Last Lecture.... His lecture was amazing and it was incredibly inspiring. I'm so glad there are other nerds out there in the world that are just as enthusiastic about other nerdome like me... Rock on fellow nerd!

  • I admire so much his brother. Fate showed me his last lecture and I was breathless .... I had realized how great this man was, his love for life, family, for teaching .... he will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him.

    thanks Randy

P.S. Excuse the bad English ... I'm Italian

  • @KingOfTheBritains I was wondering, since I am on a quest for Ahkenazi Jews, are you of Jewish descent by chance?

  • ...and I just watched it again.

You can make that 6 or 7 times.

It's really a good reminder/motivater on how to life your life and you pick up things that you missed or forgot.

  • Wow I didn't know that Randy Pausch was in that movie. I saw it in theaters and now I have to look for that the next time I see it. Thank you for putting this up.

I've seen The Last Lecture about 5 or 6 times and it's truly inspiring. Randy's changed the way I look at and live my life. He's one of two people I can honestly call my hero.

  • Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Randy will never die!

  • This video brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing your mind and heart so clearly and lovingly. I hope you become a teacher, or run for president--preferably both.

    Just wonderful. Thank you.

  • Tammy:

I too saw Star Trek and was so inspired. I am happy that he was able to be in it, if only briefly. It probably made his day. I am also a trekker (they say it should be trekker and not trekkie) but who cares. Your brother is now a part of the universe and I know you are very very proud. Melody
