  • he had a good advantage of being in chicago when all the blues legends were alive and were still approachable...i live in the chicago area and go to the city everyday but theres not many living blues legends as there were in the 50s and 60s; at least im only 18 so i can still have a shot of playing blues guitar like this when i'm 21, which is also when i'll finally be able to stay at blues clubs past 8 and actually see a performance

  • Naw man! Get sick enough to get on your guitar! Learn to play like Mike and keep his playing alive. It is doable. You'll never play exactly like him but you can dig into the same soul he did and come up with your own Bloomfield sounds. He just has so many, many blues notes available to learn from. Play along with his records and dig into it. It may take a few years for proficiency but it is all worth it.

  • As he changed guitars everyone (including Clapton etc) wanted what he was using. He started his "vintage" stuff with a 50s tele, then went to a Les Paul P90 goldtop then to a burst.

  • thank you so much for all the rare Bloomfield stuff you have posted, so grateful

  • fer a rich kid he sho has da bluz down

  • IT WAS NOT DYLANS DECISION THAT MIKE NOT PLAYING FOR HIS NEW ELECTRIC OUTFIT

IT WAS MICHEALS DECISION TO STAY WITH PAUL BUTTERFIELD

AND I AM VERY GLAD HE DID THAT

  • ITS GOOD TO SEE YOUNGER GUITAR PLAYERS INTERESTED IN MIKES

MUSIC THISWAS RECORDED WHEN MIKE WAS IN EARLY 20 S ITS RAW

FAST AND SOME REPEATING LINES BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY HE PLAYED HIS HEART OUT AND CONCENTRATED VERY MUCH ON SOUL

FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS OUT THERE HEART AND SOUL IS MOST IMPORTANT PART OF PLAYING MUSICWITHOUT THAT SHIT WILL FADE

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Hard to believe he was only 21 here and so fully developed as a player.

  • no words for it

    thx

  • Interesting photos. Don't remember seeing Bloomfield pictured with a Telecaster before.

  • wonderful stuff. When I was a kid ( I'm 63 now) I didn't appreciate it.

    RIP, Mike
