We did not have crude oil and I did not want the kids covered in old motor oil so we used cooking oil. The plan is simple. Give the clean up job to the private sector and pay per gallon for recovered oil. This puts the unemployed fishermen in the Gulf back to work and puts money in their pockets. Waiting for the oil to hit land to clean it up is not smart. Using dispersants to contaminate the fishing water with oil plumes is not smart. Using simple non polluting ideas and solutions to get the oil out of the water before it turn to tar balls is our only hope. Stop spraying dispersants and start collecting the oil while it is still out at sea.

  • At 2-4 million gallons of oil a day.. how many wood chips do we need?

  • Well you need a lot of wood chips but again the wood chips can be reused over and over again. If we put a bounty on the oil every tom Dick and Harry will be out there.

Perhaps a mulch blower can be used to get the chips out and nets to pick them up again.

We have fishing boats in the area.
