We have proposed, at the MCRLab in the University of Ottawa, a haptic-based graphical password. The main novelty of this scheme relies in the way visually hidden haptic information is combined with graphical password schemes to build a shoulder-surfing resistant graphical password scheme. Haptics information increases the entropy of graphical passwords and conflates hidden physical attributes with graphical passwords. Eventually, the proposed scheme is resistant against shoulder surfers who can completely record the login session of users with a camera. We consider the interaction forces each user applies in a conscious fashion as part of his/her graphical password, which makes it distinguished from biometric authentication schemes such as hand written signatures.
