This pkg highlights the views of Zalmay Khalilzad -The former US Ambassador to United Nations, Afghanistan and Iraq. He was speaking at a forum hosted by the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at SAIS on Afghanistan and what is at stake for US there. While talking about President Obama's exit strategy Zalmay Khalilzad said that it is not likely that US will leave Afghanistan before the job of diminishing Alqaida is done. Later in an interview with Urdu VOA, Zalmay Khalilzad said that United States has learned from post Soviet Era experiences that Afghanistan can not afford another abandonment from United States. He said that the future of Pakistan and Afghan Region is the most important issue of our times and United States as the biggest world power harbors the most responsibility towards this region. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan need to reach an understanding that neither one will let its soil use against the other. Zalmay Khalildaz praised Pakistani efforts against Taliban but said that a lot more needs to be done.
