  • @bombarde1701a well.....stay tuned! :D

  • So much for the Catholic church preserving the organs of the Crystal Cathedral, They plan to sell the Frederick Swann Organ in the Arboretum. One would be led to believe that they'll keep the Hazel Wright Organ in top notch shape as it's in the Cathedral and will be needed, but they're not getting off to a good start.

  • MORE OF THIS FANTASTIC COMPOSER CALLED ROBERT HEBBLE PLEASE!!!

  • wonder if it could work as a concert hall...

  • @a55b47 UNLESS the OC Catholic Diocese gets it...which myself and many others are hoping..

  • @pastort1966 Well, I would imagine that, given that the whole institution is collapsing into bankruptcy, & the building itself will probably be sold to a local college, any additions to this instrument aren't going to happen. In fact, I hear that some parts of the organ are currently unplayable due to water damage. Unfortunate. I hope this marvelous instrument can survive the machinations of the Schuller offspring, and, if not, that it can find a decent home elsewhere

  • At present in 2011 the organ has 270 ranks of pipes, and 31 Walker digital ranks. 16,061 pipes total. When the new Chancel console was built, they braught down some of the wind pressures and changed some of the ranks around. The Right Gallery Chamades are at 16" WP, and the Left Gallery Chamades are at 12" WP and is the 3rd Largest Church Pipe organ in the World. It now has a Gallery Solo Division of 2 ranks, Only one Dutch Division is planned for now, instead of two that Virgel Fox had planned.

  • Too bad they do not use it like it should be used in worship. It is all about a praise band and the new age service. I do not care for it at all. Give me an organ and choir! I withdraw my support for this place. I am going to support National Cathedral and the hopes of restoring the Skinner that is so majestic.
