Pastor de Lasala plays the rare 17th century organ at Notre-Dame de Rozay-en-Brie. It is likely that François Couperin played upon this organ. The original 17th century bone covered keyboards are extremely rare. Yves Cabourdin finished the restoration in 1996. This meant a painstaking piecing together of original elements making it the extremely fine organ it is today.

  • Interesting, but the viocing of the organ seemed a bit harsh, and not much 8-foot sound.

  • The recording does not do the organ justice. In the building, the instrument which is based on an 8' Montre, the sound is magnificent. When the mixtures are added you get the impression of a 16' chorus.
