Friendly match against Masta.

That was a strangely well-placed fart.

  • 0:28 LOL NOPE

  • @soul1112 So using something like 1.Utilt,2.dtilt,3.fair,4.fair,5.bair,6.dair,7.jab,8.utilt,9.ftilt would be more effective than simply 1.jab,2.jab,3.jab etc.

  • @soul1112 It is to refresh moves, apparently "stale" moves are in sets of nine.

Basically, there are nine slots for moves before it refreshes, and the more times you use a certain move such as a jab, the less powerful and the less knockback it will have.

So if something is "stale", it will have less knockback and power and overall be a suckier move.

  • @SmogoTheDuck I understand your point now. But I still dont understand why competetive players like to hump around or hit the air for no apparent reason. Why is that? I heard it was to *refresh* your moves.

  • @soul1112 Additionally, the taunt buttons on the standard gamecube controller are quite far away from the attack buttons, the thing you'd use to finish off an opponent's stock anyway.

  • @soul1112 They mainly do the jumping for practicing, and if you notice, they're all short-hops, not full jumps, which is what is mainly used for attacking. Also, with the videos, the Dedede did it because he had already won, and therefore there was no risk of doing so. and no idea why the Jiggly did, Jiggly is a very aerial character that doesn't really have any techniques that are hard to do properly, so they had nothing to practice in that short amount of time.

  • @SmogoTheDuck @SmogoTheDuck No, I do know they are playing competetively. That is why I wondered why competetive players dont do that. Instead, I dont understand why they like to hit the air or jump around to...make some time?

Also here are the very rare examples 8P

/watch?v=jL1piUNFeSY (See after 7.00 for the example)

    /watch?v=O4ZRsVLX1wI (2.38)

  • @soul1112 Thing is though, taunts are fine if you're simply playing with friends for a laugh, but if you haven't noticed, these players are playing competitively. As the move has no value, they aren't being used. I dare you to find me ONE video where a GOOD competitive player uses a taunt. You wont, nobody does.

  • @soul1112 It also doesnt waste time because you can taunt like twice with most characters (not that you would want to) before your opponent respawns.

  • @SmogoTheDuck With that excuse, non of us can have fun. A friend told me that before.

You dont NEED to do something because of benefits. You can simply do it on a whim. Personally, I think taunts are funny. It lays off the *why so serious* expression on the others.
