********Ya know, watching this again now is painful. God I suck as the Tyranid. I'm improving on them, learning how to properly use them, but I still suck as them! Awesome! Screw Nid I'm going Eldar********
Two new players to Dawn of War collide in this match, with myself as the Tyranid against some guy who joined one of my games as the Orkz. I'm not sure about the experience of the Ork player, but I was just experimenting with the Tyranid at the time. I was actually intent on recording a match against the CPU, with me testing the Tunneler commander instead of the brute. But he ended up joining the game, so I went why not and we battled.
My main flaw with the Tyranids I luckly didn't have to deal with with this guy, I don't know how to get around units in cover. Since a majority of the Tyranid units are melee-focused, getting through defenses tends to be quite a tough battle. I have a feeling I'm going to love the Tunneler's tunnels now that I know how they work, but in this match you can see I screw up how to use them, heh.
I'm excited for the full game now. :)
@SkedarE nah ur no match for my ion kanonzzzz

Nids can be a really poor disadvantaged faction to use if you don't know how to use them. If you do know they're unstoppable. Look at the command&conquer series. GDI runs around like a heavy tank-like Necron/Space Marine army for all the first timers. If you are a really really good gamer with Nod though, you can absolutely poon opposition but their too weak for begginners to moderate players. (don't worry I know DOW/II kicks C&C a** everytime these days)

@StevoE26 yeah they used to do that now they use rippers to gorge on all the bio matter, but since rippers are squishy they wait untill the enemy is gone or backed into a corner.

@Kravockian thanks for the compliment, i agree it is a rare pleasure
i used to play nids many years ago, all that remains of my army now though are 3 heavily worn genestealers, courtasy of my dog T_T
i suppose its been a while since i read much on nids, iv allways had this imagine in my mind of a crawling carpet of nids, as if the floor itself is mooving, dotted form time to time by larger creatures, constanlty eating and being eaten by other nids and leaving nothing but dirt at theyre passing

@StevoE26 yes but that comes at the end of a successfull invasion Dawn of war 2 is where the nids are trying to turn it successful, I play nids I know how they work but it takes them awhile. Thank you for keeping this civil, it is a rare pleasure to exchange opinoins like this =)

@Kravockian im not trying to say nids are more dangerouse than orks or chaos, that is a whole other argument lol
but what i have come to know is that tyranids need all the organic matter, water and gases than can get in order to servive the massive ammounts of time it takes to drift from world to world, for an entire fleet anyway
quote "they will drink the oceans and suck up the atmoshere, turning it into grate ice shileds around theyre ships from whitch they feed and breath"

@StevoE26 but it has to be biological, fan fiction will edit anything they write about and shouldn't be used untill it is acknowledged as cannon. Nids never throw everything they have into a single fight unless the enemy is pushed into a corner and already loseing. They ussually start with a scuttleing swarm then a few monsterous and repeat. Nids have lost as much as they have won but there is a limit to thier push. They need food or else they die off. Orks are everywhere, Chaos never stops.

@Kravockian for one i dont have a hard on for nids, im a tau player actualy.
but i do love the books and stories about all the various warhammer 40k races, the fluff for lack of a better turm, and in everything iv read, all the graphic novels, books, codexes, the rulebook and the odd good fan fiction i have allways come to the understanding that the tyrandis can only servive drifting to a new planet without warm flight is to use and bring with them every single scrap of usable matirial they find
StevoE26 9 months ago
@StevoE26 ym because tyranids only eat biological matter to replenish thier losses and won't turn a planet barren unless they have pushed the enemy into a corner or have already won. Tyranids take a back seat to both orks and chaos as threats to the universe. Just because you have a hard on for nids doesn't make them the best you just think they are the best. If your going to whine about trigons then where are the greater deamons? Or the titans? They are cool but they are not the best.
