@soniapapadouri Thanks for the tip; I very much appreciate it. Could be very useful and I'll look into these (when I can afford to!) I'm always nervous and hyper-aware around power tools (not a bad thing) and it would be nice to have that extra measure of safety. Take it easy.

@synapse131 Good Morning... you can view these stainless steel mesh safety gloves if you visit "Reliable Factory Supply" on Google.. Have a productive and happy day...

Aaaahhhh....I see. I didn't know about protective gloves such as you mentioned (that's a new one for me.) That actually sounds like a good idea (as long as they are tight fitting and one is careful.) Regular work gloves are a very bad idea but specially made protective gloves sound really cool (thanks for the tip!) Definitely agree that being safe and careful (in whatever form that may take) is a good idea.

@synapse131 You are totally right, but, I didn't mean ordinary gloves... the steel ones are the appropriate ones... this is what I know... anyway, being extra careful is the most important... I think we agree on that...

@soniapapadouri NEVER, EVER wear gloves when working with power tools. You just massively increase the likelihood to get the glove caught in something and to lose a finger or hand. It also causes people to become complacent and forget that they have hands in close proximity to moving blades. Gloves are a big No No. Folks think it's safer but it is not; every single shop teacher I ever had emphasized this.

Very interesting work.. my husband and myself have made a lot of furniture for our home in the past... when our daughters were growing up... this was our best hobby.. BUT, I have an advice for you..being 63 years old, I take the liberty to do this... YOU HAVE TO WEAR SAFETY GLOVES WHEN YOU ARE ON THE CUTTING MACHINE.. IT'S NOT A JOKE..

Cocaine is a hell of a drug
Hey Steve. I was wondering if you have any downloadable/printable plans for this project. It would be wonderful to make for my woodworking class in school.
I love all your videos, and plan to watch them all. Keep up the great work.

@TacoMaster3211 Unfortunately, I don't. I think if you pause the video where I show all the boards, you should be able to sketch out a plan.

Hi Steve,
I remember watching you build a beautiful chess board some time ago. I also had fun making your little puzzle thing, about the "cube inside a cube" - built from little scraps of wood. Imagine my surprise, when I went on the internet and 'Googled' "How to make a folding stool," and sure enough, my first 'Hit' was you ! You absolutely excel in great ideas, Thanks so much for sharing all this good stuff, not to mention your ideas on keeping the plane "Green" while enjoying them.

Hey steve, i love this design... it seeps so practical and portable. I am looking to make a stool at least 30" tall. Would i be able to use the same design? What ratio should i use when measuring the wood?

@jn3456 Thanks. I'm sure it could be scaled up. It would probably be best to use a hard wood if it's going to take a lot of weight and use. I'm not sure what ratio to use, I just kind of wing it!
