  • @Leoliam- Wrong: the backed jib will move the boat faster about, because the pressure is in the front of the boat. Classic move.

    If you back the jib, and continue to back it, then it will work opposite the main, thereby lying ahull, no?.

  • crash tack. backing the jib slows down the boat. you might hit your head if you go head to wind like that!and that hurts in any boat!!Keep sailing!!:D
