Richard STRAUSS wrote it, not Wagner.

I believe he did. He was inspired, and based it off of, Nietzsche's philosophical work "Thus Spoke Zarathustra"

I wish so badly that this type of inspiration was thrust upon the current generation of engineers. I wish so badly I grew up during this era. This is the type of space exposure that makes one question his/her own existence and want to search for answers.
I wish NASA was more publicly recognized. Could you imagine watching this movie less than one year prior to the moon landing? I would sacrifice my life to live that moment.
