I loved Whitesnake as a kid. I kept listening to them as I got older and metal/rock fell out of "fashion". These years later I realized I really loved John Sykes' work, not Whitesnake per se (without him).

@diopoulos the reason why he got fired was because he agreed to complete the album (87) without coverdale (since DC was still recovering from his throat infection) i.e. i assume sing by himself

Worst thing Coverdale ever did for his career was getting rid of Sykes. They could have had another monster album after 1987s Whitesnake.
