song: Hedningarna - Heila (True Love)
My truelove is far gone to foreign countries
and I wonder what she'll be doing
Although I am just such a rascal youngster
sometimes my heart is grieving

All kings of flowers grow in the fields
but only a few of the blue ones
I haven't now for a long time been able
to see the sweet eyes of my truelove

pictures: people and love in Polish surrealism (Siudmak, Kukowski, Naliwajko, Sętowski, Beksiński, Yerka)

  • Does anybody know the name of the 3. painting? The old, grey-haired man, with mind full of doubts...it reminds me LoTR :). Great paintings, especially with this music!

  • Very Interesting music :) Pozdro dla Finów, Szwedów i Polaków xD

  • @snuffles1111 You are absolutely right! Finnish is of course a Fenno-Ugric language and the structure (grammar) is quite different to the surrounding Indo-European languages. However much of the vocabulary is loans from I-E languages (Slavic or Germanic). And what is especially interesting is that many of the ancient loan words seem to have preserved their original form better in Finnish than in the modern I-E languages. Thus your comparison to sound of old Polish might very well be right.

  • @andjack ... but it's not only a question of CLOSE relation, but also further :) the notion of a hermetic nation is realtively new in history :)

if you look at yourself from a 'tribal' point of view, you'll notice you have sth in common with ppl around Europe, and less with others even in your own country :)

  • @Sinisiew ... haha nie ma o co sie spierac, kwestia jakiegos instynktownego odczucia... ;)

  • @snuffles1111 The language, Finnish, has not much in common with polish. But nearly the same language spoken in Estonia, Estonian.

  • Just to clarify. The Polish surrealism refers to the artwork. The band 'Hedningarna' is Swedish and the singers Finnish - singing in Finnish.

A good example of how beauty is created when different cultural conventions meet under right circumstances.

  • @Sinisiew Jeśli fiński przypomina jakikolwiek inny język to węgierski :P

  • Gorgeous music,

    wonderful paintings

    Greetings from Romania
