  • There are some types of glaucoma that can develop without warning. I've been seeing some of the best eye specialists in the country for years (due to ROP), and I'm confident that if there had been a problem, they would have detected it. Last week, the pressure in my eye got extremely high (54), and I was diagnosed with acute closed-angle glaucoma in the only eye I have vision in! Thankfully it was treated very quickly and after a laser iridotomy I seem to have no major vision loss.

  • satisfied about what?

  • you dont have to get it from family history. there's no history of glaucoma in my family. i hope you dont get it. (i made the account geoh222 to watch a drag race video)

  • My son had glaucoma at birth and i had to fight with the pedetrician for her to look closer. If you are not satisfied get a second opinion

  • glaucoma is awful

i went to like 5 eye doctors when i was a kid and none of them noticed i had glaucoma... now... i cant see out of it, and it points off in a weird direction...

    GO FASTER STEM CELLS

  • Thanks! There's an experimental surgery to regenerate the cells on you're optic nerve so you can see. But the wierd thing for me is that I'm the only one in my entire family with it- mom and dad's side of the family. But thank you for you're support.

  • Oops. wrong account. I made yhe other one so I could watch some dragracing video.

  • I understand. I hope to not have glaucoma, though I eventually will end up getting one due to family history. I can't ignore the fact that people ended up getting blind due to the cruel effects of the disease. But I will continue to give you my regards and support as well... take care!

  • I'm doing fine, I've got to tske eyedrops, too. It feels petty but it's neccery. I'm just sick of my brother cracking blind jokes all the time (even though I'm not).

  • aww. that is so sad. My mom has open angled glaucoma and has to take drops for the rest of her life. I hope you are doing okay :-)
