Somoe people are just conditioned to think that certain animals are not eatable. Like how Hindus think cows are Sacred. If Westerners can raise cows for food then why can't their pet dogs be raised for food by Filipinos and Vietnamese?

@ho8734 According to a vegan website I was just looking at, pigs are very intelligent. They are number 4 in intelligence behind chimpanzees, dolphins, and elephants. So they are smarter than both dogs and cats. Maybe this why Jews and Muslims don't eat pigs. Also, pig physiology is similar to humans. They are used in medical schools because their digestive system is almost identical to ours. So there are multiple points in favor of not eating pigs. But they are tasty and I like bacon.
