Hi,

For more information on the maker of this ocarina, please visit www.songbirdocarina.com Again as of the day this was posted he doesn't have these on his website, they just appear on ebay from time to time.

Just a couple notes that were missed inside the video. The first is that the tuning of this ocarina is a little shaky. I put it against an electronic tuner and all of them are a bit off, however the ocarina is in tune with itself. This just means you'd have issue playing it with other instruments other than simple percussion, but to play by yourself it is absolutely fine. Of course there is a variance based on breath pressure to change the pitch, but even so. You'd have to blow a little harder or softer on almost everynote to get it in tune, and where you can tell it was designed to use the same pressure throughout the range, I just use it with that original intention. Also, where it's in the key of A the accute bend technique does not work....and i did try it....it doesn't.

The second point is that fingerings are the same as any other twelve hole ocarinas, and because they are limited edition, and I just got in on paper, I don't have a link for a fingering chart, sorry.

Last i always feel it's a good idea to look at this type of ocarina in the context that it is a zelda replica, that is it's main purpose. I try to do in the video, and when played and bought it should be the same, you're not getting a top quality sound just because you pay a lot of money for it, you're paying to get a highly prized ocarina of time replica. Granted, this one isn't bad to play, with modest volume and soft notes witha bit of air, it's comforting.

Enjoy!

  • it's in the key of c and the "silver band" is real platinum.

  • They changed it, mine is in A, the new ones are in C....and no, it's not realy platinum.... if it was, this thing would be wortha small fortune.

  • I enjoy your reviews, thank you. just a couple of questions. if you were to choose the songbird or the stl zelda replica which would you choose? also, have you tried the stl special edition tenor replica?

  • If it's main purpose was to be a zelda replica, shouldn't it be lefty as well?... Don't know if you noticed that, but so far I have not seen anyone address that yet.
