Pentax K-x HD720p Video/ From Hubbard Park

Hello,
I just got this great new camera, that takes amazing pictures, and even captures HD video. It's the Pentax K-x, DSLR. So, I thought I would upload this to the site, and see how it goes.
I noticed that there is a lot of interest around this new model, and that people seem to be asking for HD video from the Pentax.

Hey mate. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro. And then rendering to 7 HD .mp4 at 1280 x 720. Good luck!

How do you get 720p on the pentax, i bought this camera and have been DYING to find out, check my videos, they are most definitely not 720p.. any help?

You have to tell me what you are doing to the video in between the time you get it on your pc to the time that u upload it to youTube. It should be a .avi file that it 1280 x 720p in size. If it isn't, then your quality settings are less than optimum on the camera. Menu 3-movie- quality level must have three stars. Let me know how u make out.

hello, i just bought this camera and i had a few questions Im a new user, this is my first camera, was wondering

1. when u shoot video does the quality of light get significanly darker? when i shoot videos it does not look as nice as this video.

2. are you using the stock lens?

Yes, I am using the stock (kit) lens. The lighting should be about the same as taking pics. There are some settings you have to find concerning aperture opening continuous or automatic. Use the auto setting. Also I notice using the Shake reduction during video, causes a noise in playback, so u might want to disable that feature while taking vids. It is a tricky camera to have as your first. I upgraded from several point & shoots to this one. Hope this helps. Mark..

Wow, you really have a great look as an actor too. I was hoping you could help me answer a question about the camera. Is it possible to use a video monitor to view the camera's input picture as you record video? I want to use this camera to shoot using a jib arm and need to see focus and DOF.

Thanks for any info you can give me. I want to buy this camera, but no video monitoring using an external viewer is a deal breaker.

@freddyrizzo The video output feature on the camera is only in SD. I think you need something with a HDMI output jack on it, that this model doesn't have, unfortunately. I hope this helps....

@gsmark455 I have Sony VEGAS Pro 9.0 ...I did not find rendering option to save as 7 HD .mp4....Can u please clarify?...Thanks.
