I have made a number of videos on the subject of hospital security and I have had some of you ask questions. This is an attempt to answer some of the questions.
This is also sort of a test. YouTube player is now wide screen. My video was not wide screen but I used VirtualDub to convert it and see what it looks like.

  • I was just wondering if Hospital security carries any firearm? I know that does varies from diffrent state to another. But i was just wondering, What about Fresno,CA? Thanks!

  • @bboymong08 I do not know about CA. In Kansas City (MO) there must be about 22 hospitals. All but two of them had armed security officers. I worked at 6 hospitals in KC and all of them had us armed. After I left KC in 2000 I ended up in Orlando (FL) and went to work for a contract guard agency. They put me in charge of one of their hospital accounts. We were not armed. My guess is that if a hospital is using contract guard the odds are they will not be armed. In house yes armed.

  • @hnbbs Thank you for the all the information!!! I have a interview for mercy hospital in 2-3 weeks. If you don't mind, what would be the best manner in which I should sell myself to the panel. One of them is a ex-lapd officer. What is in your opinion as far as what personality, morals, etc. these people are looking for? I have the idea that they want someone that can talk their way out of anything without using force. Any feed back will help me out. thank you for your time sir. dan

  • @erndog14 You are 100% right. They do not someone that is going to come in and say they will kick ass and send people to jail. They want someone like you said. They want someone that can get along with staff and other workers. I would let them know that you want to work for them and have reasons. I did some interviewing and hiring and when I asked "Do you have any questions" and the guy said "Do I get a gun" that was a warning sign to me. When that was their first question.

  • I am a security officer in texas, I dont know where your located, but when you take the class and do the training in texas finger printing is included. I would advise you to go to your local police station and they should be able to do it.
