After 51 years as a focal point on the Cheshire skyline, Jodrell Bank observatory faces potential closure due to cuts in funding.
But we're not going to let it go without a fight!
Now, local schoolchildren, students, radio presenters and many more have come together to support the campaign.
This song will be digitally released as a download-only single on Monday 21st April 2008.

Excellent song! I was born and raised in Macclesfield and hold Jodrell Bank close to my heart. I now live in Wiltshire. It's the first thing you look for on the horizon when climbing any road out into the Peak District. Hope it's around for a few years yet, not only for the public to gaze in awe at, but also for those lucky enough to be involved in astronomy and astrophysics at UMIST.

I visited Jodrell Bank in 1987 when I lived in Crewe. It was closed to the public when I got there, but they let me in anyway since there was a school group there. It was great!
