You can hide the pick, use fingers, you can use pick and fingers like the reverend, or just pick like SRV in Sweet little thing.... I like SRV cause you can ad a downward scratch, makes it more raunchy.

I agree that this is YOUR interpretation, but it's not right. Billy uses a PICK and 2 fingers, doesn't pull of with his pinkie. Go back and listen to the original also. I have it right in front of me. See closeups of Billy at ZZ TOP-LA GRANGE LIVE IN TEXAS posted by sunrisefog

I didn't say that I was channeling Billy Gibbons and playing exactly the same as he does.
It's not like my version sounds so damn different that it's a totally different song though, is it?
You really want to sound so completely accurate even so much so that you play with the same fingers as the originals that you eliminate any chance of developing your own style? Nobody sounds like Billy Gibbons and wasting your life trying to BE him is an exercise in futility.
