It's all in his dialogue "I wanted the baby to have a real family you know a mother and father who loved and respected each other" he was talking about them. He asked her to marry him..she was the mother and he was fahter he was talking about. Instead she told him she and Lucky would be that family. DAMN I wish these two had listened to each other back then
