A great voice – and a lovely song. Thank you for the chords as well, now I have something for my session backers!

Ah but what would an Irish busker know - yeah - written by Michael McConnell - on his album 'Peter Pan and me' which was recorded the same week I recorded it for the album 'Loosely Connected' having first received his permission, of course.

It's not traditional and Niamh was first to record it..

@Borrelaas : The small birds were (dm)lining the (Fmaj7)bleak autumn (G) branches
Preparing to (D)fly to a far sunny shore
When the tinkers made (dm)camp at a (Fmaj7)bend in the (G)river
Returning from the (D)horse fair in Ballina(G)sloe
Now the harvest being (dm)over the (F)farmer went (G)walking
Along the Faele (dm)River that (D)bordered his (G)land
And 'twas there he first (dm)saw her twixt (F)firelight and(D)water
The (C)tinkerman's(G)daughter, the(D)red-headed(G)Ann.

Thanks Nino - yes The Tinkerman's Daughter was written my Michael McConnell, and recorded by Niamh Parsons on Loosely Connected in 1992, and recorded my Michael McConnel himself on 'Peter Pan and Me' also in 1992 but it was written in the 1980s so not traditional at all - it comes from the poem written by Siegerson Clifford in the 1930s from his book 'Ballads of a Bog Man'
